The update forum.

this will be the update forum for the 82 berlinetta...

anyway, lot has happened since i made this site...

8-10-05 i have officially no mufflers on the berlinetta now. cuz they fell off, finally. RUNNIN STRAIGHT PIPE!!! actually it was runnin like that all along.

and i fixed my tranny leak. long story...
i actually fried the plug that plugs the transmission where the speedometer cable enters the tranny... so i went down to the chevy dealer in Sioux City and bought a new plug. DAMN 68 bucks but at least it's metal instead of cheap ass plastic this time... that's about all for now...

8-19-05 Alright, today i'm stripping down a 85 Camaro for parts. we will get everything. yes. pillar posts, dash, steering wheel, seats, fenders, hood, lights, gauges, console, e-brake, tail lights, tires, mufflers if in good condition, seat belts. the list goes on. hope it's better than last time. we actually had to lock ourselves inside the car we were stripping cuz it was raining so bad outside. anyway, i'll update later...

09-01-05  Just started gettin the rear end painted this week. Silver is my new favorite color.

9-19-05 Almost there. Drove it out to a friends house to get the rest of the car painted.

9-26-05 yeeeehawwww, got my car painted. yes, yes. silver is my favorite color, as i said before. just some minor touch ups to do now, like add a muffler, replace head gaskets, fix vacuum leak, and add a clear coat of paint. before the clear coat, i need to add the two tone paint on it. then clearcoat, then i should be done. yeeehaaawww. it's gonna be a good day tater. have some pics within a few days.....hopefully....

10-17-05 got the pics taken, but i haven't posted them yet. drove it to homecoming, it ran like a champ, but the choke is acting up, so it runs like shi$ now, but i'll get 'er fixed. that's what i do, fix things... p.s. i think the piston rings are fried too, 4 outta six, either that or the valve guides in the heads. I'll fix it.

1-14-06 Been a while. Happy new year. my car is painted as you know, but i've been fighting the winter. you see my window doesn't roll up all the way, so snow kept gettin inside the car. I was pissed, lol. but i solved that problem. i'll get the pics soon. update later.

3-2-06 Yay, summer is almost here, and that means that i'll be able to fix my car. The choke cut off was worn out, so too much gas was getting used. So gas mileage was bad. Plus black smoke came out of what's left of the muffler, meaning not all the gas was getting burned up. so that was an indicator.

4-16-06 well, i've owned my 1979 camaro for 1 year today. anyway, on to tha berlinetta. Not much has happened since last post. I've been really busy, but i managed to get it running, and drove it around alot. Problem is, tires keep leaking air, and i lost my damn choke pull-off. So, i need to buy a new one, another 50-60 dollars. I'll keep you posted.

6-12-06 Going to buy a new choke pulloff today, then hopefully i'll get a new exhaust. that will fix the loud sound known as straight pipes.

6-17-06 didn't buy the choke, they didn't have it, oh well.

8-15-2007 Holy Sh!t. It has been way too long since i've updated this site. Well, i'm graduated from HS, have been since May. Going to college in Wyoming soon. So i will use this page for my next project. My friend and i took the 2.8 out of the berlinetta and were going to rebuild it. Long story Short the engine never got rebuilt because the engine was modified and i didn't know. It was bored .060" over which is insanely stupid on a v-6. Suprisingly, the block is still good. The crank was ground down .020", and i have the rebuild kit, but i've been saving money for college, so i haven't gotten around to rebuilding it yet. Anyway, My next project will be to put that rebuilt engine and the tranny from the berlinetta ( I need to get that back) back together and build a 2-seater dune buggy frame around it. Think about it, a dunebuggy with a v-6 that will do about 90 mph, and has about 110 hp. That's double most VW motors out there, lol. I'll keep you posted.

04-08-08 Well, i have been attending Wyotech since October of 2007, and not much has been done to this silver f-body. Last i heard, my friend tyler was buying it from the guy i sold it to, and tyler contacted me to get the original v-6 engine for it. Maybe i should lend my help to him.

02-06-09 I have recently learned that Tyler bought another third gen and was using my camaro for parts. It's kinda sad, to put so much work into something and see someone you want to take care of it, part it out. I think this might be the end of the line for my first f-body. Only time will tell...(at least i still have the engine).

5-1-09 I sold the entire 2.8L to my friend Nate for $200. He recently bought a v-6 firebird and wants another engine, so i sold him mine.
